(More customer reviews)Delicious! The pecan-almond-peanut combination is simply wonderful. I love almonds, but some of the products out there are too hard that is scary that it may break your teeth. The almonds they use here are not hard at all. They are formed in little cubes that is a perfect bite size. They added some sugar for a slightly sweetened taste.
I like that the product is 100% natural, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no artificial coloring. Likewise, some nutrition facts that you may want to know; Each serving is has 170 calories, total fats at 20%, saturated fat at 11%, dietary fiber at 10%, has a few vitamins included too. In regards to fats content; they are nuts, so what do you expect?
The packet has a neat recloseable zip. One thing I notice is that there are more than a few broken clusters crumbs that settle at the bottom.

Nature Valley bars are a natural source of energy to fuel healthy active lifestyles. One bar has 140 calories. That's not bad for a bar that satisfies our cravings for candy bars. We keep a box of Fruit & Nut bars on hand. When we get ready to leave on a road trip, we take some with us. That way we can travel further without having to stop along the way. Sometimes we grab a bar in the morning when we are in a hurry. They make a good breakfast.
Fruit & Nut Bars contain almonds, raisins, peanuts, and cranberries.
In 1975, Nature Valley created the granola bar category. Since then Nature Valley has continued to set the standard for granola bars.
Now it is possible to buy Nature Valley granola bars in all sorts of flavors, such as Apple Crisp, Strawberry Yogurt, Vanilla Yogurt, Blueberry Yogurt, Mixed Berry, Banana Nut, Oats and Honey, Cinnamon, Maple Brown Sugar, Roasted Almond, and Peanut Butter. We started with Fruit & Nut bars, and so far we have not managed to buy anything else. I suppose we should try other kinds, but Fruit & Nut bars are too good.

(More customer reviews)The good news is that the peanut butter flavor of these granola bars is really good. When I first bit into one, I immediately thought I was eating a peanut butter cookie. They're very reminiscent of a Girl Scout peanut butter cookie, minus the cream filling of course.
That brings me to the bad news. While a serving of these granola bars has a tad less fat and sugar than a cookie, the difference isn't great. If you don't believe me, just look at the nutritional information for a Nutter Butter cookie here. That doesn't mean that this isn't a good snack to have on occasion. These are a healthier alternative than a candy bar, for example, but they're really not much different than a cookie. In other words, even though most people would equate granola bars with health food, one must be careful not to overindulge in these.

(More customer reviews)Shame on Nature Valley for trying to pull the wool over our eyes! If you were a fan of these bars when they first came out, then be warned. The recipe has changed and the bars are much different and NOT for the better. Not only are they much smaller, they also contain far fewer nuts/fruit and the bar itself now has an airier consistency like the Rice Krispie's treat.
How do I know all this? I bought these bars on a regular basis from Costco and still had some leftover bars from the first batch and I was able to compare them side by side. These were always my favorite hiking snack and now they aren't much better than every other bar out there. I think Nature Valley will quickly regret its decision once they realize that their are a lot of unhappy customers. I'd gladly pay a little extra if it meant keeping the bars the way they were.
If you don't believe me then by all means buy them and judge for yourself.

(More customer reviews)I really enjoy the flavor and texture of these candybars, but don't be fooled by the natural look of the product and packaging. These are all "treat" and no "snack". Nature Valley is blurring the lines between the once distinct categories of granola bars and candy bars. This product certainly falls into the latter category, but appears to be marketing itself into the first.
Ingredients include a host of flavor enhancers and sweeteners that "healthy snack bar" types might be trying to avoid.
We have 22g Carbs, 7g Fat, 3g Protien and 170mg of Sodium
"Glycemic Spike" and "Water Retention" come to mind...
Check out these ingredients:
High Maltose Corn Syrup is the second ingredient, sugar is the 4th, High fructose corn syrup is the 5th. Also in there is wheat flakes, fructose, honey, milk products and soy lecithin. As for the good stuff, we have almonds as the first ingredient, rolled oats as the third, crisp rice as the 6th. There are other ingredients as well, surely listed in the product description here on Amazon.
One peave regarding the product packaging which states that the bar is "dipped in almond butter coating". Well, I eat almond butter (instead of peanut butter). The "coating" they refer to is more of a white "sugary milk product coating" with a little almond mixed in. It is nothing like "almond butter".
Overall, this bar packs the salty sweet flavor punch it boasts and the texture is fun. Just beware (or be aware) of all those "other" ingredients when you buy.

(More customer reviews)Even though I know it's important to eat breakfast, I seldom do it; I'd rather sleep a little longer. These breakfast bars are a nice easy way to solve the problem. I keep a box in the car and munch on them on the way to work in the morning...they're whole grain, nice and filling, and taste good to boot. They're also a nice treat on the way home. The Oats and Honey are my favorite, but the variety pack provides a nice change. All of the flavors are tasty: peanut butter, cinnamon, maple sugar - all yummy.
