(More customer reviews)These bars are fantastic tasting. They do have 7g sugar per bar (for a 36g bar that's nearly 20% sugar). For people with a sweet tooth like me, these are a great alternative to other chocolate, candy, and less healthy snack bars. Sure, there are plenty of things out there that are better for you, but I've yet to find any that taste like this.
These bars are great, but the Kellogg's FiberPlus Bars, Dark Chocolate Almond, 5 Bars, 6.3-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12) are even better!
Here is the full nutritional information per 1.2oz bar:
120 Calories (40 fat calories), 4g Total Fat (2g saturated fat), 0mg Cholesterol, 55mg Sodium, 26g Total Carbohydrates (9g dietary fiber, 7g sugars), 2g Protein.
10% Calcium, 4% Iron, 20% Vitamin E, 20% Zinc.

(More customer reviews)Snickers Marathon Chocolate Nut Burst Protein Bars are a middle of the road protein/energy bar. I really like the taste of these, and their 22g of protein is the highest content of any of the protein bars that I regularly eat - Cliff Builder, Kashi, and Promax being the others. They are also fairly high in electrolytes with 360mg of Sodium and 260mg of Potassium, and these are important to those who train hard and need the extra minerals. The one downside to these is that their sugar content (at least in part) comes from corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup. The other products that I mentioned avoid this by using more natural sources such as evaporated cane juice. Because of the sweetener, I do not use any of the Snickers products as my primary protein bars. I use them more as a change of pace to keep from burning out on the others. For the more nutritious conscious, I would recommend products from Cliff, Kashi, or Promax. While these are better than a regular candy bar, you can still do better.

(More customer reviews)I just got done eating one of these bars and it tastes like a candy bar, not an energy bar. It's definitely the best tasting bar I've had. After eating it I looked again at the calories (290) to make sure that that was for the whole bar, not for half of it, a trick that some products, namely drinks, pull. It just tasted too good. It was indeed 290 calories and 21g of protein for 1 bar. I'll definitely be eating these on a regular basis.

Oskri Organic Kosher Bars Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a box of these bars as an organic alternative to the usual Joyva sesame snaps that I buy. The date syrup also seemed like a good alternative to sugar and HFCS.
However, when I received the box of sesame bars I was dismayed to realize that the bars are mostly syrup (over 75%)!!
Regardless of the organic ingredients and alternative sweeteners, these are much less healthy than I thought - they're basically sugar with a few sesame seeds thrown in - and they taste that way.
On the Amazon website it lists the ingredients for these Oskri bars as:
Organic Sesame Seeds (49%), Organic Date Syrup (26%), Organic Brown Rice Syrup (25%).
The ACTUAL ingredient list on the package is:
Rice Syrup, Sesame Seeds (23.5%), Date Syrup (12%)
I realize that Amazon has a disclaimer about ingredient lists, but this is a real disappointment!
I would argue that the packaging is really misleading - these aren't sesame bars with date syrup, but rice syrup bars with sesame seeds and only 12% date syrup! I expected a quality product and feel like I vastly overpaid.
Looking at the original (Amazon) ingredient list, I assume that Oskri changed its ingredients to cut costs, but whatever the reason these are neither a good deal, healthy or delicious.
UPDATE:
After writing this review, I checked out Oskri's website and the box that the bars came in - BOTH the website and the box had the old ingredient list (49% sesame seeds) - it was only the bar wrapper that showed the true ingredients of the bar.
Then, I contacted Oskri about the ingredient list issue and the fact that my sesame bars had far fewer sesame seeds than I paid for. I received a very unsatisfactory form email in return - and nothing in response to a second email.
BOTTOM LINE: Do not buy products from Oskri - they seem to have no problem (a) making inferior products and (b) misleading people into buying them and then (c) providing unsatisfactory customer service.
Basically - I wouldn't trust any of their other products to contain the ingredient formulations advertised.

(More customer reviews)Shame on Nature Valley for trying to pull the wool over our eyes! If you were a fan of these bars when they first came out, then be warned. The recipe has changed and the bars are much different and NOT for the better. Not only are they much smaller, they also contain far fewer nuts/fruit and the bar itself now has an airier consistency like the Rice Krispie's treat.
How do I know all this? I bought these bars on a regular basis from Costco and still had some leftover bars from the first batch and I was able to compare them side by side. These were always my favorite hiking snack and now they aren't much better than every other bar out there. I think Nature Valley will quickly regret its decision once they realize that their are a lot of unhappy customers. I'd gladly pay a little extra if it meant keeping the bars the way they were.
If you don't believe me then by all means buy them and judge for yourself.

I don't usually buy these things but I was starving and I liked that the packaging was clear so I could actually see what was in the bar. It was absolutely delicious! I have not seen this brand around very much but I will certainly be on the look out for it now.

The only negative is that you only get tiny bits of almonds, not big pieces and they are slightly chewy. from the picture I expected it to be like a milky way-more whipped, not chewy. But they're really yummy and instead of going to the vending machine at work and eating something bad for you, you can have a candy bar and still be healthy!
