(More customer reviews)For those seeking sugar-free products without all of the chemical sweeteners like aspartame, this sugar-free Maple Praline Syrup from Blackberry Patch is a natural solution. A rich praline pecan flavor with hints of vanilla, this syrup is sweet and delicious without being cloying. The thick, slow pouring syrup offers a nice mouthfeel similar to that of "regular" pancake syrup, a nice switch from the watery, too-thin textures of some sugar-free products.
A special bonus is the natural flavoring--no off tastes, no strange chemicals!
It's important to note that the sweetener here is maltitol, a "sugar alcohol" that can, for some, create gastrointestinal discomfort in large amounts (20-30 grams/day). I don't have this experience (perhaps because I don't consume such large amounts), and I appreciate that maltitol is not carcinogenic... A little online research from credible sources may be useful if you're concerned about this issue.
Blackberry Patch makes a number of delicious naturally-flavored sugar-free syrups; this one is my personal favorite. Experiment and find your own favorite!

I am having a hard time purchasing it in my province in Canada and it is worth the effort to order it on line. I wish they would expand their distribution.

Lyle's Golden Syrup is a thick, amber-colored form of inverted sugar syrup, made in the process of refining sugar cane juice into sugar, or by treatment of a sugar solution with acid. It is used in a variety of baking recipes and desserts. It has an appearance similar to honey, and is often used as a substitute for people who do not eat honey. It can also be used as a substitute for corn syrup.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this product for wedding favors. The syrup is absolutely delicious, high-quality Vermont maple -- not much else I can say about that. However -- and this is Amazon's problem, not the vendor's -- I would caution any buyer to look carefully at the items when they receive them. Five of the bottles I ordered (across separate shipments) were cracked and spilled all over the bubble wrap and box. When I contacted Amazon, I was sent a replacement. The individual bottles were wrapped in bubble wrap, rather than incautiously crammed together in a baggie.

(More customer reviews)I lived in Vermont and New England for years, so I had easy access to excellent maple syrup. No longer living in Vermont, I ordered this syrup hoping for the best, but not certain of receiving the quality syrup I'd been used to.
This one is top-notch. Thick enough to soak into those waffle squares and with a perfect maple syrup flavor. In addition, the price at Amazon is so much less than you'd pay to buy this quality syrup from a Vermont roadside stand.
I use maple syrup in the traditional pancake/french toast/waffle way but I also use it as a sweetener for soaps, stews, and other entrees. It's not so sweet that it interferes with the flavor; it just enhances it.
I don't think you can beat the quality or the price for this maple syrup.

This is hard to find in stores too and Amazon has a better price than the store anyway. To me, Grade B is the only flavor worth eating - and I eat it almost every morning.

This one is not quite as maple-y as some I've tried, but perhaps it is just the way the weather was for this harvest. I think I'll buy it again, however...and if you are new to maple sirups, remember that grade 'B' is usually more flavorful and dark.

(More customer reviews)I thought maple syrup was maple syrup but, apparently things have changed over the last several years. I noticed a while back that the maple syrup I purchased in the store (even organic) had an "odd" taste. It just didn't taste right. I tried several types but, with the same result.
Then I read a review on here about Vermont having tougher standards for maple syrup. As in something about not allowing other sweeteners or something, don't remember exactly.
Anyway, I decided try Brown Family Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Wow, major taste difference, even the after taste lingers and is very nice. I also bake bread with maple syrup, the smell of the baking bread, and the bread flavor are much more distinct maple.

(More customer reviews)Many people assume that grade B syrup is somehow or other lower quality than grade A. That's true for most foods, but not for maple syrup.
I've had grade B's that were only good for baking or cooking, but this one straddles the fine line between 'strong enough' for baking and 'mild enough' for pancakes.
Watch for sales, I ended up getting this for about $15.99 with Subscribe and Save and a discount offer, definitely the best deal around for 32 oz of maple syrup.

(More customer reviews)Hershey's Sugar Free Dark Chocolate candy bars tastes very close to the full sugar version. Dark Chocolate was always one of my favorite treats before coming a Type 2 diabetic, so it is great being able to have it again in a sugar free version. There is a little bit of an after taste with these but dark chocolate is usually bitter so it isn't really an issue for me (but my wife says she notices more than I do).
I should mention that eating too many of these (more than 3 or 4) does cause me some "gastric distress", so you might want to try them at home before eating a bunch while out in public.
