(More customer reviews)I used to get these in the smaller 7oz. boxes - but y'know, you can't *eat* as MANY of them that way, so I recommend these larger, more heavy boxes, with more Chocolate and more Brandy in them...
Alright people, what does it take? It's Chocolate + Brandy!!!!! If you are dead to the world then perhaps it will need further review, but I think not... After all, you are a highly literate person of good taste and strong moral character and did I mention that IT'S *CHOCOLATE* AND *BRANDY*?!?!

Turin tradition in the chocolate arts goes back to 1560, when Emanuel Philibert, to celebrate thetransfer of the ducal capital from Chambery to Turin , symbolically served a cup of steaming hotchocolate to the city. A little more than a century later, the Royal Lady Giovanna BattistaNemours officially authorized public serving. This event was bound to turn Turin into the mainItalian centre of the "food of the gods". When cocoa was brought to Turin from Spain in the XVIcentury it was made into a drink: it was called "bavaresia" and was served with coffee and milk.However, at the beginning of the Nineteenth century a new machine was invented to mix cocoa,vanilla, water and sugar to turn liquid chocolate into solid bars. It was this invention that boostedthe cocoa industry in the city: chocolates, created in Turin, became the favorite way to eat thenew delicacy.

(More customer reviews)If you like chocolate and refined liqueurs (together), you have to try these. For some reason Americans are not that into liquor chocolates, but I just love them. My husband will maybe have one every other month, while I devour a whole box. :P The thing that bugs me the most is the trouble you go through to find these kind of treats in the US. Thank goodness for Amazon. I just love these chocolates. It's the right kind of balance between sweet cherry liqueur and dark chocolate. And the cherry in the middle is absolutely divine. This is a guilty pleasure you shouldn't deny yourself.

(More customer reviews)The Schladerer Fruit Brandies chocolates are much MUCH better than anything labelled "Very Special Chocolates". These fruit brandy candies taste like they are made with high quality chocolate while many of the other bottle-shaped candies taste waxy and low-quality.
The fruit brandy fillings are nice, and while very sweet they do not seem overly sweet for the candy balance of flavors. Of course the fillings are not very fruity but you definately get a little whiff of liquor when you bite into one (nice!)
On my personal review scale of liquor-filled chocolates:
The "Very Special" ones are terrible and not worth the time and money (or the calories)
The Schladerer are lovely and made with high quality chocolate, a winner
The Ausbach brandy chocolates are the best I have ever tried, with even nicer (darker) chocolate and a stronger whiff of liquor in the filling

(More customer reviews)The second these got on my doorstep I brought them into the house I proceeded to open them and tasted all 3 of the flavors I started with the remy martin I bit into it and it oozed a goo (I was expecting liquid) I mostly tasted the chocolate nothing else I moved onto the orange vodka I bit into this and WOW it tasted strongly of oranges (well duh) finally moving onto the cointerui I bit into it and while it didnt have much flavor it burned (just like real vodka) which suprised me because its only 0.5% alcohol ... I should also note these DO have alcohol in them so dont go giving these away on haloween XDDD anyways kool chocolates these will be a hit on new years I will order again

(More customer reviews)I bought these Anthon Berg Chocolate Liqueurs Candies for my daughter who is serving in the military overseas. These are packaged safe; bubbled-wrapped for extra protection from the weather elements and damage. They arrived in excellent condition.
I asked my daughter if the chocolates were fresh -she told me they were the best chocolates she has ever eaten (along with her many friends who shared in the delightful treats). All wrote back thrilled with how "yummy" they were and said the quality of chocolate were some of the best they've all ever had. I wasn't sure if it was because they were deprived of such good treats or if they were as delicious as they claimed -but my daughter just came in for the holidays and I purchased more for her and she said they were as delicious home as they were overseas. So I presume the candies are of high quality and enjoyable.
I know what I will be sending in my next care packages overseas to our military and also in the care packages to my daughter!
