And you're getting 12 x 3.2oz bars for this price with free shipping which makes it a great value! Dark chocolate can be a healthy part of your diet in small portions. It has a creamy texture and I have used it (chopped up or grated) as a substitute for chocolate chips in baking and home-made ice cream. According to the package, the Nutrition Facts: serving size 1/3 bar (30g), calories 157, fat cal. 106, Total fat 12g, sat. fat. 7g, cholest. 0mg, sodium 23mg, total carb. 15g, fiber 4g, sugars 8g, protein 3g, Vitamin A 0%, Vitamin C 1%, Calcium 2%, Iron 10% (% based on 2000 calorie diet.) The package says it's made primarily from African cocoa beans and contains a small amount of Caribbean cocoa beans. Made in Belgium. Their website is www.chocolove.com

(More customer reviews)This is one superb chocolate, but primarily for the more sophisticated chocolate lover. It is intense, rich, smooth, and fills the mouth with its dense flavor the way a good, full-bodied red wine does, but those who eat primarily milk chocolate will probably find Eclipse inedible. An analogy might be someone who loves beer, but primarily drinks Budweiser or Corona, having his first sip of Guinness or Anchor Porter. For those who might find Eclipse too bitter, try working your way up to it over time by eating Dagoba's milk chocolate (the best milk chocolate I've ever had), 59% chocolate, and 74% bars first. All are delicious but not as "intimidating" as the Eclipse bar.

(More customer reviews)Unlike other expresso chocolates, Newman's Own isn't large hunks of chopped up coffee beans, but finely ground expresso powder. Makes it much more pleasant to eat. The quality of Newman's Own chocolate is also very good. I love good chocolate and am so happy I can purchase it at Amazon in 12-packs for a cheaper price than I can get in a store.

(More customer reviews)I've found this chocolate to be a great solution for my low carbohydrate diet. This chocolate only has 5g net carbs per serving, but I find half a serving to be plenty satisfying for a chocolate fix. Also, this has no artificial sweeteners, so I don't have to worry about digestive problems.
If you don't like dark chocolate, you won't like this. But if you're willing to savor the cocoa flavor, this is a great way to eat a small amount of chocolate without a lot of sugar.

(More customer reviews)This is my favorite chocolate by far. I do warn that it is extremely extremely dark and quite bitter. I started off with the 70% which is quite a bit sweeter and then, when I had gotten used to the 70, I upgraded to the 85 and wow, it's intense and incredible. So rich and dark. They have a 99% as well but I don't think I'm that bold yet!
Now, when I eat 60% chocolate it tastes so sweet! Not only is the 85% better because it has more antioxidants but it also has much much less sugar than 35% milk chocolate!
If you're not ready for the 85%, start slow. Hershey's has a 45% and 60%!
I eat one little square a day whenever I have it in the pantry! Yum!

(More customer reviews)Ghirardelli isn't the finest chocolate you can buy, but it's pretty good, and the Intense Dark Assortment is both inexpensive, and provides you a few possibilities.
I've lately taken to unwrapping a 60%, 72% and 86% cacao square for each dinner guest and setting them on an individual saucer, to serve as an after-dinner sampler with red wine or Scotch. That's been a pretty popular approach. A similar approach also works "therapeutically"---if someone's having a bad day, sitting them down with a small assortment of increasingly intense chocolate isn't a bad path to feeling a little better.
I do wish that there were the same number of each in the bag; that's the only downside. Of course, if you really want the sets of three to serve to guests, you'll have to go through the tiresome task of somehow eating the extras. Darn.
