I couldn't believe my luck when I found these Bassetts licorice allsorts at Amazon. These are my favorite sweets. I grew up in England and would always buy 2 ounces of them whenever I got 3d. They arrived today, only took 4 days!! They are well packaged in 4 seperate bags. They are nice and fresh, and I cannot stop eating them. I feel like I have been deprived for years, but believe me I won't be deprived again now I know I can get them on Amazon. They are exactly as I remember them. What a terrific deal on these sweets, and no shipping charges either. I would highly recommend these to anyone who likes licorice. They are a treat.

I haven't had these since the year I spent studying in England while I was in College. They're as good as I remember.
You have to like liquorice, but they aren't STRONG liquorice, like some of the European Liquorice.

Panda All Natural Licorice Cremes, Strawberry, Caramel and Banana, 7-Ounce Pouch (Pack of 6) Review

Unlike some of my fellow reviewers, I did not really have a problem telling the flavors apart. I saw three distinct colors and tasted three distinct flavors: Strawberry, Banana, and Caramel. They were all about equally good in my opinion.
I am a big fan of Panda "original" black licorice. One day, I took a chance on their "herbal" licorice variety and was not disappointed, so I figured I would take another chance on these "creme filled" treats. Once I popped one in my mouth, I couldn't stop; I think I ate two-thirds of the bag that first day. Even my wife, who hates licorice, said "If I were going to like any kind of licorice, it would be these." (I believe she ate a caramel one at my insistence.)
In retrospect, it makes sense that these are so delicious. They use high quality ingredients, and, let's face it - if you take pretty much any food and add FAT and SUGAR to it, in general it will taste better to most people. Yes, sadly folks, the creme filling adds 4 grams of SATURATED fat per serving. I wish it didn't.
Nevertheless, you're doing yourself a disservice if you dismiss these out of hand for that reason. Life is short, and these present a rather unique combination of flavors that you don't commonly find together elsewhere. I recommend trying this at least once, if only for the unusual taste experience. They are definitely worth it.

Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts packet 14 oz Review

I have always liked licorice, real licorice, not the red gummy candy. This is a very good old fashioned licorice assortment. Frankly, I didn't get to try this item, since it was a gift to my father. I have often had this candy though, and I can vouch for it. It must be fresh enough though, if it's old it dries out and loses it's outstanding quality. I do hope it was fresh. It has a fine assortment of coconut, chocolate, and other flavors and soft textures.

Are you a Licorice Lover? Then look no more. Bassett's Licorice Allsorts are fresh and soft. Not like these cheap imitations that are hard as a rock. They have a wonderful flavor that you will surely love. I have given them to people that hate licorice in general. They cannot put it down, since they tried it. At a reasonable price, I share them with my family and grandchildren.

Allsorts are produced by many companies around the world today, and are most popular in Britain, continental Europe, and North America. South African confectionery giant Beacon produces substantial quantities of the product, where it is both sold locally and exported to such countries as Australia and Portugal. The Dutch name for liquorice allsorts is "Engelse drop," and in Finland they are called "Englannin lakritsi/laku"; both literally translate as "English liquorice."Bassett's use the story of their creation in their marketing. In 1899 Charlie Thompson, a sales representative, supposedly dropped a tray of samples he was showing a client, mixing up the various sweets. He scrambled to re-arrange them, and the client was intrigued by the new creation. Quickly, the company began to mass-produce the allsorts, and they became very popular.
