(More customer reviews)This sauce is medium heat for everyday use. It has an excellent roasted pepper flavor, and there is *NO VINEGAR* to get in the way. Consequently, you get exactly what one should expect from a pepper sauce...versatility and flavor that does not try to smother the character of the food you season with it.
An every-day sauce should not leave a patina on your tongue. This is not a boutique novelty, it's a household staple. The 32 oz. size is the right size for a hot sauce household.
You want good? Try Tapatio on cottage cheese. You'll never eat cottage cheese any other way again, I promise.
I use it on just about anything except cereal and ice cream, but my personal favorite applications of Tapatio are:
eggs
potatoes
pizza
anything creole (forget tabasco!)
cottage cheese
most rice
mac cheese
and of course...Mex
In my opinion, this is the best sauce in your local grocery store.

(More customer reviews)No, this isn't a fire-breathing, reach-for-the-tissues mouth burner sauce. It's Franks with a little stink on the ball. It's flavorful (as you expect w/Frank's) with just enough heat to make you notice it, but not so much that it lingers for long afterward. It's great on anything you'd use regular cayenne pepper sauce for, but seems especially designed for eggs.
Wow, does it make eggs an almost religious experience.
If you like pepper/vinegar flavor and some heat, get this. If you want your mouth burned, this ain't gonna do it for you.

(More customer reviews)I love hot sauce. I have been a big fan of other "insane" hot sauces, but the problem with them is that for the most part, they cannot be put directly on food, instead, they need to be diluted before they're okay for consumption.
Not this hot sauce. It's perfectly hot enough, yet not too hot to eat straight out of the bottle. I put it on everything: Burger too blah with the normal condiments, El Yucateco can fix it! Shrimp cocktail not kicking, El Yucateco will show those shrimp who's boss. I even use it to bring salsas up to the proper level of heat.
It's definitely hot. If all you're used to is normal, red-colored vinegar water, this hot sauce will open your eyes and set your mouth on fire. But, if you're looking for something with good flavor that'll keep you coming back for more, this is the stuff.

(More customer reviews)Looking at the label, this appears to be your typical red pepper sauce, nothing more of less special than any other brand. It's not like red pepper sauces have a huge list of ingredients, so how much can they really vary?
Texas Pete has really hit the sweet spot in red pepper sauce blends. It's robust but not too hot, great for ribs, fried chicken, or Mexican food. It's like Tabasco, but with a less vinegar-y flavor. It's very similar to Crystal, but a bit more full-bodied. La Preferida is good, but this is better. Definitely worth trying.

TABASCO HOT SAUCE HISTORY

TABASCO brand products are produced by McIlhenny Company, founded in 1868 at Avery Island, Louisiana, and still in operation on that very site today.

The Company's roots were actually cultivated a few years earlier, shortly after the McIlhenny family returned to the Island from self-imposed exile during the Civil War. According to family tradition, founder Edmund McIlhenny obtained some hot pepper seeds from a traveler who had recently arrived in Louisiana from Central America. McIlhenny planted them on Avery Island, and then experimented with pepper sauces until he hit upon one he liked.

By 1868 Edmund McIlhenny began making pepper sauce, and during the early 1870's his concoction found its way to New York City, where a major nineteenth-century wholesale grocery firm, E.C. Hazard and Company, helped to introduce the product to the northeastern U.S. and beyond.

Tradition holds that McIlhenny first used discarded cologne bottles topped with sprinkler fitments for distributing his sauce, important since his pepper sauce was concentrated and was best used when sprinkled, not poured on. The ever-inventive McIlhenny washed the used bottles thoroughly, and made up labels himself. Sales grew, and by the late 1870's he even sold his sauce in England.
Only One TABASCO In 1870, Edmund McIlhenny received letters patent for his unique formula for processing peppers into a fiery red sauce.

That same process is still in use today, and Avery Island remains the headquarters for the worldwide company which is still owned and operated by direct descendants of Edmund McIlhenny.

(More customer reviews)The label on Frank's Hot Sauce says "The Perfect Blend of Flavor and Heat" and I must say this is an accurate description of the product.
Frank's Hot Sauce is outstanding. It's a Cheyenne Pepper based hot sauce that is not too hot, not too sweet, but has just a perfect blend of "flavor and heat." It's not like Tobasco sauce which is very hot and you sprinkle on items. It's a different kind of sauce (I love Tobasco). Frank's is a hot sauce you can use more liberally to your liking because, while it's hot, it's not so hot you can't really dig into it and enjoy the rich flavor and spices.
I like to use this sauce to dip chicken tenders in, but you can also use it too cook buffalo wings, put it on eggs, French fries, burgers, whatever you like.
I like this size because I use a lot of it and it goes fast at smaller sizes.
I highly recommend this hot sauce.

Great taste! Doesn't overpower food. Tastes great on chicken, ribs and steak! Combine with melted butter and baste on meat. Pour on tacos and burritos. Splash on your pasta and pizza. Perk up chili, soups, stew and baked beans! Delicious on scrambled eggs!
