(More customer reviews)I ordered this item and several other choclate items from Euro Food Mart and was sorely disappointed in the products I received. They arrived melted. I didn't realize that I needed to have them shipped EXPEDITED. I mistakenly assumed that by paying $12 for shipping, the items would arrive with some kind of coolant. Previous to placing the order I clicked on the Shipping link for detail, and perused the chart that appeared. I failed to scroll down and see the information stating that in order to assure the use of ice gels, orders needed to be Expedited. So, on a $26 order, I would pay an additional $30+ for Expedited delivery. When I initially received my melted chocolates, I contacted Euro Food Mart and received a very rude and curt reply from Cris in Customer Service informing me that during the checkout process I was offered shipping with ice gels, but I chose to decline it. Sadly, the melted chocolates did not fair any better after being refrigerated. They cracked easily and no filling was discernable. Admittedly, it was my mistake not to notice the note on Expedited shipping, however, the response from Euro Food Mart's Customer Service lacked objectivity. My rating reflects my entire experience....quality of shipped product and customer service provided by Euro Food Mart.

Godiva Chocolatier Gems Assorted Dark Chocolates Bag, 3.1-ounces (Pack of 4) Review

(More customer reviews)Godiva truffles are awesome- no doubt about it. I love getting truffles from their boutique shops, where you can fill your box with exactly which flavors you like. Otherwise, at $2 per truffle, its just not worth buying their pre-packaged boxes (in which case I end up with 4 or 5 flavors I won't even eat-thats $10 waste on a small box). The reality is, however, their prices are so prohibitive that I only go to their shop 2 to 4 times a year for a treat (I believe its $36 per pound- quite a bit).
This brings me to their brilliant, new Godiva Gems. Godiva has finally found a way to package truffles in a manner that can be affordable to buy on a more frequent basis. If you go to their site and calculate the price per ounce of their chocolate boxes, you'll see the gems are the lowest price per ounce of any chocolate they offer.
The Gems are like the truffles with the same delicious ganache center and outer chocolate shell, although a little smaller (perhaps 1/2 size- In fact, their advertising had me expecting a teeny chocolate, but when I saw them, they looked rather large to me).
The difference is, with the Gems, the outer shell is 'assembly-line' dipped, like lindor/lindt truffles, and the shell is VERY thin. So thin, that when the Gems arrived in the mail (purchased and shipped from Godiva directly, not Amazon), roughly 1/2 of the gems in the box were cracked.
This is a problem becuase when you grab at a Gem, you can't tell if you have a cracked one or not until it is unwrapped. If you do end up with a cracked one, when you open the wrapper, tiny chards of chocolate fall everywhere- on your desk, into your keyboard, down your shirt, etc... It gets a little annoying after a while.
Other than that, the Gems are a great deal as far as Godiva chocolates go.
One last thing should be mentioned: The Gem packages purchased directly from Godiva are twice the size of the smaller ones they've been selling to drug and grocery stores. The price by ounce is actually cheaper to buy directly from Godiva, rather than from Amazon or a drugstore (although, Godiva's shipping prices are very high in relation to the amount of product they are actually shipping out, so unless you have a coupon code, it may well be worth it to go with the CVS or Amazon Gems).
Would definitely recommend for a Godiva lover, but perhaps look for something else if you're shopping for a gift.

In 1903, he founded his chocolate company, and in 1907 he created a small, delicious, individually-wrapped chocolate, which he named the Kiss. And the rest, as they say, is history!
The Kiss was hugely successful, and has been in continuous production ever since. Now, I don't know when they came up with the idea of producing new "varieties" of Kisses, but I must admit to having been against it - how can you improve on perfection, right? Well, I am now a committed believer!
The cherry cordial Kiss is absolutely delicious! It tastes like a mini-chocolate covered cherry, but with no annoying cherry-skin. If you like good chocolate, then you will love this Kiss. Heck, if you want to be the hero of a party, just bring along a bag of these great little treats. I give them my highest recommendations!

Leonidas Belgian Chocolates: General Assortment Review

(More customer reviews)While it was shipped to me insulated in styrofoam, no cold packs were included in the shipment--which was heading to Atlanta in early September (the American South in the summer). I assumed that since I was paying over $20 for shipping--the absolute fastest time, greater care would be taken to ensure that the product arrived intact. Unfortunately, the chocolates I received were largely melted. I do not recommend the purchase of this item to be shipped to any region experiencing temperatures above 78 degrees.
UPDATE: Received an e-mail, which read (in part) as follows: First, my apologies for not answering you earlier... I didn't notice there was a melting issue with your order till late last week while addressing a small more recent delivery problem. Anyway, as you have noticed with your order, melting can and does happen in transit, but luckily only with an insignificant number of our packages as we only experience about two dozen or three dozen a year out of well over 15,000 packages. Insignificant when view in percentage terms, but still most infuriating when this happens.
The e-mail went on to note that they are replacing my order. I am stunned--I have had a melting issue before with a different chocolate company (remember, I live in Atlanta, Georgia, where summer temperatures are a bear), and I received nothing in the way of satisfaction. I figured it would be the same and didn't even bother to directly contact the company (a mistake on my part). I am *very* pleased with this level of service.
