(More customer reviews)This Sugar Free "Dark Chocolate Macadamia Bark" is by far the best tasting diabetic friendly candy I have ever tried! I was excited when this said no Maltitol since that causes me "gastric distress". That being said, it does contain the sweetener oligofructose which can cause extreme flatulence in some people (sadly me included - it is almost cartoon funny), so it looks like my quest for the perfect sugar free chocolate candy continues.
Pros:
+ Really Good Tasting; just about indistinguishable from regular candy - my kids even like it
+ Macadamia Nuts; has a lot of nuts and they taste great!
+ Low Carb; only 2.5 Net carbs for a reasonable size piece
Cons:
- Contains Oligofructose; which causes the similar gastric issues as Maltitol in some people
- Pricey; somewhat expensive
It should be noted that my kids tolerate both Maltitol and Oligofructose without the gastric reactions, so this MIGHT be OK for you.
I still put this in the "Recommended" category since it so very good tasting and doesn't effect everyone the way it effects me.
