(More customer reviews)This chocolate cherry is exquisite in its unique taste as it is filled with rum likor 13%,and cocoabutter. The chocolate outside is half bittersweet dark and is a very different taste than milk chocolate. The size compares with American chocolate cherries, however the filling is not so sickly sweet inside. If you like chocolate covered cherries you have to try this! Once you've had these, the cheap ones just don't compare. Great that they are now available here in the U.S.!! No more overseas shipping charges.... Ferro makes quality merchandise, you will not be disappointed. There are 25 pieces in the 262 gram box. I found them 14 years ago in Germany and been eating them ever since. They are a seasonal item - not found all year long, so get them when you see them advertised or wait for the holidays. Truly out of this world and I cherish every bite. Thank you Amazon for carry this item.

Most sour candies made these days make your eyes water and your mouth pucker. Not these gummi's, they have just enough of a sour taste to make them interesting but the sour taste is very very mild.
My order came in great condition and very fresh.

Paradise Fruit Company was incorporated in 1961 as part of Canaveral Utilities and Development Co., a land development operation on the east coast of Florida. The name "Paradise", a label used by a company that had been in the 'glace' (candied) fruit business since the end of WW2,was acquired by Canaveral during the year of incorporation.After several acquisitions and mergers with similar businesses, 'glace' fruit became the major segment of the company's business. In 1965, the name was changed to Paradise Fruit Company, Inc. During those years, there were a number of relatively small operations manufacturing candied fruit, primarily for sale to commercial bakers. The management of Paradise anticipated that there was a great potential for direct sales to homemakers through supermarkets. Over a period of several years, Paradise developed the now familiar transparent, reusable plastic containers found in almost every supermarket during the holiday season. In order to become more immediately responsive to its customers needs, the company invested in a facility to manufacture all of its packaging. This, combined with large inventories, enabled almost overnight filling and shipping of orders. During the same period, the company acquired, merged with, or was licensed by a number of competitors to become the leading marketer of 'glace' fruit products under labels that have been trusted and asked for by customers for generations. Given the increasing diversification, the name of the company was changed to Paradise, Inc. in 1993. Paradise remains an innovator in 'glace' fruit marketing, introducing in 2003 a new package design that incorporates recipes and a cash-redeemable coupon.

(More customer reviews)I now own a lot of this candy. Individually, the candy pieces are tart and fruity. Eating a bunch at a time really detracts from the great flavor they have. They are very tart and not EXTREMELY sour, but are more sour than their non-extreme brethren. I suppose on a scale of 1 to 10, in terms of sourness, 1 being water and 10 being the powder off of a Warhead washed down with lemon juice, this is 7.
I like them to be refrigerated before eaten, rather than at room temperature.

What I think is interesting about the new Sour Patch Extreme candies is that they didn't just make them more sour. They mixed the flavors up a bit. Each candy is a mix of two flavors. The head is one flavor and the shock of hair is a second flavor. I don't think they looked too much like faces, more like feet with different colored toes to me. Watermelon Grape (purple hair and pink head) - I was surprised, these went together pretty well. The fake grape has a little concord snap to it and the watermelon, though pretty much a straight high pitched sour also has that slight note of the rind in there. Orange Blue Raspberry (blue hair and orange head) - I would have preferred my citrus together - maybe a little lemon and orange, but this was okay. The orange seemed to overpower the raspberry in the sour department, but after chewing to the point where it gets sweet, that's when the raspberry kicked in. Sour Apple Strawberry (red hair and green head) - This combo was quite as abundant in the mix and that was fine by me. The flavors were so distinct they didn't seem to go together.

And now, Haribo is the only gummy candy brand I like (they are a bit harder than other gummies, I think because of the wax coating). Anyways, the cherries are among the best and the flavor is not a typical cherry-candy flavor. However, some people do not like them because of their hardness in comparison to other gummy brands.
