(More customer reviews)I bought these for my fiance' who is a huge chile head. He goes to Hell Night in Boston and has won contests and such. Lots of times he's disappointed when it comes to spicy things as they claim it's the hottest this and that and he tries them and it's a let down because they weren't hot to him (even though lots of other people would say otherwise as they cry and can't drink enough milk).
I have to say, he LOVED THESE!!! I was looking for a unique spicy treat to get him for our anniversary and I came across these homemade marshmallows with a kick. So, I went to their website and WOW, they have LOTS of awesome goodies! They also have a Chile Head Gift Basket that has these marshmallows, spicy rice krispy treats and spicy chocolate bark. [...] I really wanted to get that for him, but I am on unemployment and it's about to run out, but I still wanted to be able to get him something.
So, I came back to Amazon and ordered these Chile Marshmallows for him from Happy Dance Artisan. (I just noticed they are .50 more here, btw) He bit into the habanero one first thinking it would not be very hot because as I said, he's been disappointed in the past. Well, let me tell you, IT'S HOT!!! He said he was NOT disappointed at all and LOVES THEM! He was truly impressed by these and would order them in the future for himself and his brother who is another chile head.
I can't stress enough how he usually isn't phased at all by hot stuff. He's one of those that asks the chef to make it hotter or does the contests as if he was eating chocolate pudding. :)He's a true chile head and these pass his hot test!
So, if you think you are going to order these and they might have a little kick or bite, be warned, they really ARE HOT!
Oh, and if you go to their website, you will see that you can CUSTOM order ANY of their products. They make them fresh per order, they don't sit on a shelf. That was one of the things that impressed me with them. I was so tempted to order myself some of their caramels, fudge and some of my own marshmallows (they have ALL kinds).
If my unemployment gets extended I will be ordering myself some goodies too! He just keeps raving how good and original these were. So, if you are looking for a gift for a chile head that is unique, this is it!
I hope they put the rest of their products on Amazon too! They certainly have alot to choose from!
Oh, I do want to mention that if it's possible, I would HIGHLY recommend using UPS as your shipper, because I used the expedited option here at Amazon and it was Priority mail. There was a problem with the post office delivering it because they used [...] for their postage and the barcode had a glitch in it causing it to say delivered in the system when it really wasn't. So, it sat at the post office for 5 days before it showed up on the usps site as delivered when he didn't receive the item at all. He went to the post office this morning and they DID have it there! It was a huge mess, so, maybe don't even use Amazon, just order directly from their site.
I had emailed them before placing an order and they were very nice and quick to respond. They answered every question I had and I highly recommend them as a business. They have a GREAT product and really good customer service! Oh, I almost forgot, they even gift wrapped the item for me and I included a personal message that they included for free. He said it was really packaged nicely and professionally and the writing on the note was "girly" and legible.
