In the waters of Mosquito Bay, tourists come to see the luminescent light show. Most believe the glow is caused by tiny creatures, known as fireflies of the sea. But, others know the truth. On the nights when the moon is half full, when it glows just a faint shade of green, then you know. It's on these warm summer nights that the Manatee gather to dance in Mosquito Bay. They tango & rumba, do the merengue & samba. They spin & they twirl & they dance all night. So, if you find yourself on Vieques Island, on a warm summer night & happen to see the luminescent glow of Mosquito Bay, then you will know. It's just the Manatee dancing under a key lime moon.
